K, I've seen quite a few people complain about these surveys. HOWEVER - you would be surprised at the number of people who answer yes or positively to these questions.
When I was working for a company that had all applicants take one of these surveys, the numbers shocked me. We would have people who answered affirmative to half the questions.
These surveys might seem like a waste of time to those of you who don't use drugs, who don't steal, who don't commit fraud and more. But honestly they save companies a LOT of time and money. If someone answers the survey honestly and says they'd fail a drug screen, the company doesn't end up having to actually give that person a drug screen and go through all the time and effort of the hiring process with them.
I know they seem ridiculous, but there really are people out there who answer honestly to the questions, and it's a lot more than you probably think.
