I was thinking about why so many people can not find jobs working for corporations and it's not surprising when you look at all the requirements and background checks you half to hurdle. Lets examine....
** You can't be too old because insurance it's too costly to insure.
** You can't be too young because most likely you don't have the experience.
** You need to be qualified yet you can't be over qualified either other wise you might leave too soon.
** If you are qualified you must work for less than expected due to market demand.
** You must have good credit although many now don't either because they ran out of money due to being out of work and or they lost there home due to the housing crash.
** You must not have any criminal record and that includes small misdemeanors DUI, drunk in public, open container, minor in possession of alcohol, less than an ounce of pot..etc
** If your job includes driving you can't have too many infractions like speeding tickets or accidents for insurance reasons.
And lastly and probably the worst is they not interested in hiring you simply because you not employed, yes it's true employers figure you must not be employable if you've been out of work for more than 6 months.
So basically you have to be young, experienced, willing too work for less, perfect person with good credit and lastly, already working

Ninety percent of us have jobs so we're doing something right.
I was thinking about why so many people can not find jobs working for corporations...
oi. So often these threads start with statements like this...
imply an expectation that these companies have millions of unfilled slots sitting idle begging for some warm body to show up and fill them.
Just in case it wasn't clear...
the jobs that NEED to be done, with very few and very rare exceptions, are already being done. By someone.

eh? What exactly is NOT surprising about this?
eh? I'm not sure what you don't understand? I spelled it all out for you.
Mr. Rational if you don't like the way the thread started or sounds then move along dude......You're so negative...
Actually - his point is valid. Yes, the economy sucks and a lot of people are trying to find work and are having financial issues. But the simple truth is that a lot of people are doing quite well, both professionally and financially, and many people are interviewing for jobs and are getting them.

I can cite plenty of anecdotes to disprove these points. I know a fair number of people, including myself, who have landed corporate positions in the last 1.5 years that were unemployed at the time they were hired, were in their mid-30's to early-40's, and do not feel they are being underpaid. Can't speak for credit scores as I don't ask my friends about that. And, yes, more experienced people are more likely to get an offer - that is nothing new.
