Has anyone ever used a professional resume writing service? I'm SO bad at writing my resume, I've been putting it off for months and now it's time to get it done. Can anyone recommend a good service they've been happy with? Thanks a million!!

I have a good friend who is an HR professional and used one of those services from Monster or The Ladders. She paid dearly - I'm guessing $300 or so but it was great. I have no doubt it is what helped her land several interviews. She's also a highly paid professional, so $300 to land a $95k+ job was worth it for her. I've seen people advertising on craigslist for much less. I think a great resume is a good investment. I am considering using one for my upcoming job search.

Thanks for replying! A good resume would be a great investment. $300 is not that bad since you can just use the same resume later on and update it as needed.

If you are hard up for cash, then there are free websites which offer resume writing tips. But if you think you really need a professionally written resume, go for it. after all, it is a job we are talking about.

Yeah, I need help. I come from a culture where boasting on one's accomplishments is frowned upon so I'm having a tough time marketing myself. Every time I start writing I get a terrible writer's block. I much, much rather pay $200+ to have someone else write it, totally worth it.
