What, a celebration of sloth? Not terribly religious, but the bible says those who do not work do not eat. You should be starving by now. What infuriates me is how my tax dollars are used to support your perfect little existence. Yes, some of us do have to work, less we starve.
What about His eye being on the sparrow????
What was that in the bible about the birds not working, yet the Father provides for them?

There's nothing in the Bible about that. It says birds don't reap or store in barns, but they are fed anyway (paraphrased). They still have to go out and pluck the bugs or seeds off the ground. The theme of the passage is "don't worry," not "don't work."
By the way, this passage is from Matthew; the eye of the sparrow passage is from Luke.
My wife is a district supervisor in retail pharmacy, and does the hiring and firing for 29 different pharmacies. She is under corporate pressure to hire the best of the best and remove those who won't go the extra mile and help the business grow.
She doesn't have a unemployed need not apply policy. But she is looking for people that can handle the volume of work, good customer service, and are reliable team players who will cover others on their sick days. It's tougher to find than most people would think.... Young people definitely fit this mold better. and she has FAR less problems with them than the middle aged.
Though she has always had an open mind, she is finding that the unemployed in her profession are unemployed for a reason....

That's not the way I was taught, but my church tried to take the bible as literally as possible, not interpreting.
