Had an interview Monday at 4:00. First thing the HR person old me is she was prescreening candidates. I was a little nervous beause I've been unemployed for a year, but I think everything went well. The HR person who interviewed me said I had all of the qualifications they were looking for.
she said the lady I would be replacing was let go on Friday, because she had a bad attitude and could not get along with her co-workers. She said that they were looking to hire right away, because they didn't want her work to get backed up. She said she would like me to meet the supervisor, but that he had left for the day. She said she would call me today, to set up a time so I could meet with him. Well, it is now going on 3:00 and no call from her. What do you think??
It is annoying but people don't keep their word these days or always follow through. I would give it until tomorrow afternoon and if you don't hear from her, then give her a call.
Call her in the morning. Don't feel bashful giving her a call or any HR person a call in general. HR tries to act like they are very important or busy, and sometimes they are truly busy, but so is your time important. That is, you could have called this afternoon, but tomorrow is fine too.
If you get voicemail in the morning, don't leave a message. Try again in a couple of hours, as leaving a voicemail gives them time to get back to your voicemail, and they might delay on this again. If by afternoon, you get voicemail, leave a message. In general, don't leave more than one voicemail message.

You're welcome girlfriday.
This is excellent advice.
Another poster on here had a scheduled phone interview and the HR woman didn't call them. They didn't do anything and thought calling would make it look like they were desperate.
No, an interview is an appt. and both parties should be available at that time.
In your case you were told you would hear back today.
Avg12 gave better advice, call in the morning as they said rather than waiting till the afternoon.

I agree, in fact the reason for the lack of call may be that the person was fired for discussing a personnel matter publically that could lead to a lawsuit.
First time I called I didn't leave a message, second time I did. Still no reply. I guess I will just forget it and move on.
