Here is one for a pizza place in my home town.

Servers wanted. We are looking for restaurant servers with one year of recent restaurant experience. All other applicants will not be considered.
Note: For a crap job, ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. And people wonder why the unemployed aren't taking these jobs.

One from the town I used to live in.

Fruit pickers wanted. Must be a hard worker and be able to meet the physical demands of manual labor. Must be bilingual.

The only thing I find funny about it is that you have to have 2 years experience at the same company-lol

This is not a real ad

Found on my local workforce services posting board...The company is some "office professional" company.

What I found really funny about it is that you can't be 10k in debt....so I guess they don't want students, people with car loans, married people who used to make more money, etc. There are plenty of reasons why one would be 10k in debt.

They mean more than 10k in debt collections. As in bad credit debt, not just debt.

I actually think it's kind of them to allow people to have 4 accounts in collections not totaling more than 10k.

They could easily require perfect credit but they are making allowances for some bad credit.

It doesn't state 10k in BAD debt....it reads bad debt OR 10k in debt. They are two different matters entirely.

I think its worded to pull in those who are willing to work and maybe work less than ethically for the money because they have these debts, but not so bad that you got deadbeats who will steal the company blind. Kinda like a step above the boiler-room but not to the level of winning a busines ethics award. (maybe used car salespeople or stock pushers, or those guys with the vacumes that come door to door, or most likely working for the Motor Vehicles Dept. )

Read the entire sentence:

Quote:

Must be able to pass a credit check is part of the sentence.

It means that if you have 1 to 4 accounts in collections, they can't total more than 10k.

Yep. That's what it means.

They know they're hiring from the bottom of the barrel, but they don't want to hire what crawls out from under it.
