Think it depends, an older career changer will want to list the date if they graduated recently to show they are as up-to-date as younger students who graduated with them.

This is true. I was thinking more along the lines of traditional graduate at 22, 24 for a masters degree type of thing.

I agree that leaving off dates entirely is bad. If you don't want an employer to know about the gap in your resume, list the years instead like "Company A 2010-2011" "Company B 2011" and so forth. You can leave off the months.
