Have you thought about nominating yourself for the Most Informative Poster Contest?

I have done this alot in the past.
I think its important to see how good you can become in interviewing. At first, I was extremely nervous. Then I started thinking that I was going to interview them and I relaxed alot.
Last week I went on a job interview that I knew I did not want. The next day I emailed the main interviewer and said it was wonderful speaking with them, but I had decided to pursue another opportunity closer to home. This lets them off the hook and they don't have to contact your references.

At first, reading this, I thought, "Why would anyone put themselves through this if they don't have to?" but upon further reflection, I think it would be a good idea. For me, though, it wouldn't necessarily to be to practice, it would just be me going in and saying what ever the hell I wanted to say that I don't get to say in interviews. I won't have to sit there and second guess my responses, won't have to pause, looking for just the right words...just say what I want, who cares. That would be fun.

I guess it is July that is "the month you get a job"? Then in July in will be September, because
"everyone is in their Summer mode".

If you treat your job like you treat finding one, it is NO wonder you can't keep a job.

I say go for it...why not it may help you or it may lead you to a career. Plus practice makes perfect.

Good luck!

I've done a handful of practice interviews, typically you apply online and not quite sure what the company does and you get called in. From my experience, most companies won't contact references until they want to actually want to make an offer. So I wouldn't sweat it.

The practice interviews that I did were great for tuning up my responses and the worst thing that will happen is that I get offered a job.

I been on a interview where they ask do a have a list of references because that's how impressed they was so that;s why I was wondering what I would do in that situation.

Something like that I would just say that you need to email them your references. When you get home you email them and say something like you got another job offer and you have to take a pass. Just thank them for bringing you in for an interview.
