Updating on my great news. I got job offer the following Monday with my desired salary. My recruiter told me my interview went great. Phew....! Done with all my employment and criminal background checks. Will start in 2 weeks. Yay!!!

C'mon, cut the OP some slack. I don't believe s/he was kissing ass. S/he wanted to make a good impression at the in-person interview, for their dream job. Besides, if anyone conciously (sp) "kisses ass", they are "playing the game", which is to be the winner, the one chosen for the position. Once you get in, you can become your real self again.
