Yes, like where one person in particular in this thread was found to be a liar all along. The ones so firm about not lying are the biggest liars around.

She's pointing out that a certain -other- was proselytizing about how bad lying is, when I busted them out for lying themselves. (and now they've disappeared) The hypocrisy of some.
Regards to a job or not - I believe it is NEVER a good policy to lie to anyone, anytime, about any thing. It weighs on a person's conscience (if they have one), it is an accurate barometer of personal integrity, you will never be "caught", and you will never have to strain to remember what you told to whom regarding whatever. Life becomes much easier to deal with if you approach it honestly, in a mature manner, and regardless of what someone else may believe or choose to live their lives, telling the truth in all matters I believe eliminates unnecessary stress, doubt, worry, etc. You do not have to please anyone but yourself, or defend yourself for any reason. After you practice doing it for a while it becomes second nature and you can accurately decipher if you are being lied to just by listening and watching carefully. This is just my personal approach to life in general - and you did ask.....

But also to be wise in what you disclose to others, because others may not have your best interests at heart. Non-disclosure, or slanted partial disclosure, is not the same as lying. It is self-protection.
Sometimes in life ones must lie, in order to get what they want and this especially true during police interrogations but yet no is one protesting that. There will always be hypocritical moralist which makes me sick but all we can really do is ignore them and do what we have to do to survive. I am sick and tired of being lied to by employers and people in general so I will return the favor to them and it's not out of revenge but it's more of playing the game. I've told white lies during interviews and I gotten the job so I'm going to do what works for me.
