If that's true then how does one who really wants to work go
about finding a job.
Read the North Dakota forum? I hear it's booming there. Even non oil jobs that are located in Fargo and /Bismark are looking for workers. I guess if my back was to the wall and had no options, that is where I would head.
No matter where I go or call it's the same story, "we not
hiring" or the turn in a app but no callback response.
I've checked
Hardware stores
fast food
Government, law enforcement
Same story
I live in a very poor area where unemployment is high particularly
among the youth.
Why is no one hiringing in this town.
It means they are not "hiring outsiders". I was told the same thing by this company in June and then found out someone started in july which was from a obvious connection
When there simply are no jobs where you live then your only real choice is to look outside and move to a less depressed area.
Yeah, but some people don't have that choice due to family holding them at a
location. I can imagine if one had NO family they could just pick up and leave
whenever they wanted to.

How does family hold you to a place? I know several people that have an apartment out of state (in some cases, out of country) so they can work. They visit on the weekends if possible.... or whenever possible. The individual is employed, and the family is supported.

And people have been moving for time immemorial, through the centuries, either leaving their families behind or taking them with them, in order to find work to support them. What's preferable - staying in a stagnant area where there is little chance of survival or moving on to find more prospects?

I have a strict dad. He's 72 and treats me like I'm 15. I actualy 30.
He Won't let me become a truck driver. He wants me in a factory job
that just do not exist out here. I am 6 feet tall and skinny in frame
so the last thing I need to do is spend 30 years in a factory. I am
in debt because my father will not let me take what's out there
that I can do or even travel out of state. He currently have me
training at HR Block. This is why it seems I'm stuck living in one
spot. Because of him.
