In RED: This is because they work cheaper than you would. Unfortunately, companies and businesses will sacrifice experience and quality work to save $$$. Pretty pathetic, IMHO.
The sad thing is they don't even ask what I would take to do the job and right now I would take the same salary as those workers. This is why we need to get rid of most visaed workers because they are taking jobs.

They work for cheap and don't complain about crappy benefits, working conditions or anything else. I'm certainly NOT saying this is a good thing, because it isn't. It's shameful that these companies and businesses will hire visaed workers to save money in every area and at the same time, sacrifice quality work. Same with outsourcing jobs. Businesses don't have to pay one dime in benefits and they "think" they get the same good, quality work as when the jobs were still here in the USA.

I'm older than you, and I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up!

You should have said, "OMG we are supposed to grow up? Is that a prerequisite for the position?"

A "foreign-sounding name" to "certain" employers can mean Latisha, Moesha, Shenanah, Latifah, etc.

Honestly, I feel like the OP is bogus. It's just too off the wall crazy to take seriously. If it is in fact true, then the poster might want to find a new place to work. That is absolutely absurd.

I've long suspected that all of the points that the OP mentioned has been going on. I see "BA" required for admin positions here in the SF Bay Area. In fact, I spotted one just a few minutes ago on CL in the admin section under San Francisco jobs.

Quite a few years back, many ex-pats who were living in Sweden mentioned this problem of finding a job with an "ethnic" sound name (last names, in general).
