Basically this. I wouldn't call it stupid but it's very possibly going to hurt you. Recruitment software typically has address and phone number as required fields. When the recruiter runs into an issue with the software, they won't waste their time. They'll just chuck the resume.

And I wanted certain employers to see where I lived so they could see how close I was to the job lol

Because not all job postings are legit these days. There's a lot of scam artists posting fake job listings. Especially in my area, which is accounting and finance.

I'm talking about if a job ad has the email address of a person for you to directly email your resume to.

Not a job ad where the company and contact person is unknown
