So I applied for a job and went to several innterviews for this particular job. Most of the people who interviewed me tell me that I'm a good candidate. Plus I can tell they like me. The rest stayed in neutral ground and I could'nt read them. After my last interview I was told that I should get a call telling me the decision within the week. It's been almost 2 weeks and I'm wondering if I should contact them in some way at the end of the second week. I was thinking possibly an email thanking them for their time and consideration just to remind them that I'm still interested. A call seems like a bit much since I wouldn't know how to say "Do you want me or not?" Now I'm sure they'd contact me even if I was turned down because a friend of mine also applied and he received notice after the 2nd interview. Should I just stay patient and hope for the best or maybe send some message to them?

I think you should send a email which is something I did back in September when I didn't hear anything 2 weeks after the interview. I actually thought I had no shot and just decided to send the email for the hell of it and it ended up leading to another interview and getting the job.

There is no reason to contact them, they have not forgotten to make a selection. If you were selected they will let you know. Things happen, illness, vacations, urgent problems. If you were not selected it may take longer or they may even be rude enough to not contact you, but at this stage I would not risk annoying them.

Keeping in mind that as well as you think you did, and as much as the interviewers seemed to like you, someone else may have come along
after you that was just a little better. Also, interviewers tend to be polite and
telling you that you are a "good candidate" can mean you are in the top 15 out of 100 for the one opening, it's certainly not indicative of your chances for success. Having been a supervisor or manage interviewing for many years,
I would never take a call from someone we had interviewed, I would simply
refer them to HR for any update on the selection process. Same with e-mails.
if it makes you feel any better and you haven't done it already, send an e-mail
to thank them for the opportunity and say that you hope to hear from them soon but don't be pushy about getting a response.
