Homebuilders Struggling to Find Workers
Right now there should be all kinds of work for people.
Look at all of the homes and business being destroyed all over the country
( by floods hurricanes tornadoes ) which need people to build them, etc. etc. etc.
Take a look at what they say.

I saw that article and you'll notice how nicely they say "Illegal Aliens" by referring to them as "Immigrants" (If they were "Immigrants" then why did they go back home?)

It makes no difference if they are legal or Illegal Immigrants
If there is no work they go somewhere else.
No doubt about it, if contractors can't find workers they will import
them from anywhere in the world they can get them, and the
government will help them get them here, and at the taxpayers expense.
The USA is already working on the idea ! ! !
Then there will be less work for U. S. Americans citizens,
just like in the past history ! ! !

This conjures up images of contractors flying black helicopters into Mexico and rounding up workers at gunpoint...

When they open up the doors they will come, they won't have to be forced,
because Mexicans, Chinese, and the poor people from other countries
will work harder then Americans and for less money ! ! !

And do a crappier job!!! BS article about the "poor" low ball contractor. Cry me a river.
These douches made their choice when they decided to hire cheap "immigrant" labor exclusively. They can live with it.

It is called business my dear. Think about it: if you owned a business, would you hire someone who asks to be paid $12.00/hour or someone who asks to be paid only $8.00/hour and works his ass off? Of course you will hire the cheaper labor because that means more money left in your pocket. Labor costs a lot so the lower the pay, the higher will be your profit. It is all about numbers when you are in business so that is why many American companies love and vigorously fight for cheap immigrant labor.

When employers say they can't find workers, all they mean is they can't find workers willing to accept a job that pays $7.50/hour. If they paid more, they should not have trouble finding good workers.

Ah! But it's bad business and very short-sighted. If every employer seeks to pay as little as possible to line their pockets, sooner or later people don't have the money to buy their product or pay for their service.
This is why I firmly believe every job should be primarily commission or profit-share based. You bust your hump and do the best quality job you possibly can and dive referrals, you get a bigger and bigger piece of the pie - all pay is performance based and the employer turns a profit on every employee low performers create little revenue, get paid little. High performers create more revenue, get paid more. You lose the loss cost of carrying "dead weight" in underperforming workers, and reward those that make your business successful.

i don't know if this model works for every position, but it is definitely a great incentive for workers if working harder nets better rewards.
my husband's job (he worked in manufacturing) used to be piece rate and they changed to hourly pretty much because he was making too much money. his salary was practically cut in half. he still worked hard, because he just has an unstoppable work ethic, but he's been resentful ever since, and has been less likely to go out on a limb to help his employer.
