It's true. Even if the detectors go off, the person would probably be long gone at that point.

That said, some stores put their security personnel at the front door so they can check everyone's bag and receipt. I imagine that helps to reduce at least some of the shoplifting/shrinkage.

Just because someone's applying for a dishwashing job doesn't mean they're an idiot, a criminal or don't know how to use a computer (just like someone who works in an office isn't necessarily very intelligent).

well I guess we will just have to agree to disagree because no typing should be involved when applying for a dish washing job.

Once again your opinion of what "should" be has no bearing on reality.

I know it is and to go through a lot of BS just to apply to a job that will involve a lot of hard work is just dumb

OP, it is not a surprise at all. I am still looking for summer work, in my quest for work till school comes back, I filled out an ONLINE application for a dishwashing position at Boston market and AMC theatre. Neither has yet to call back, yes I did follow up- they say they are not hiring though the website clearly states that they "are hiring".

In this economy applying online for a dishwashing position is not surprising, I figure it is par for the course.
