One, it's their company and they can do what they want.

Two, following simple instructions is very necessary in all jobs. Many people can't follow directions on an application, how can they do a job without being hand held all the time?

Three, I do whatever HR asks of me. If they ask me to do the Hokey Pokey and I am interested in the job, then I dance the Hokey Pokey badly. I wouldn't audition for the Rocketts because I can't dance, I would however apply to McDonald's. It's actually not a bad place to work. Worked there in high school One of my favorite jobs ever believe it or not.

Four, companies have policies and rules for a reason. Why? that's their business. If I start a business, i can make my own rules. Until then, I'm out of luck.

Five, because they said so. My mother would love that one!

Now you know why it took him over a year to find a job, and by the looks of it, this one will be gone soon.

One job I applied for(and got) required everyone to take an ACT test(I think they gave us 2 hours), it covered many things that had little to do with the job(as I found out later) but they weeded out those that didn't have clear thought and some knowledge of lower tier advanced math, the lowest grade they accepted was about a C-3/6(I got the highest grade possible 6/6), I guess SportsGuy wouldn't even consider a job like that.

Maybe HE can't concentrate on one thing that long .. Would explain other unrelated things too ...

I had college classes that were an hour, some much longer.

One class I had in HS was FOUR hours long, one hour in theory, and three in Lab.

When I first came to this forum I had tons of people saying the reason I can't find a job is because I'm not calling back managers after filling out an application. Then these same people respond to another thread and say don't follow up or you will ruin chances. So what is it, how am I supposed to get an interview let alone the job.
