I was expecting a pink dyed mohawk or something like that.
Me too! Actually, when I saw the thread title the first thing that came to mind was a guy I met with a purple to green gradient in his spiky mohawk. It was pretty impressive, actually...but not office-appropriate in most situations.
The hair in that video looks fine to me for an office environment. Clean and neat. What other qualifications are there?
While I'm sure it was an honest question that intended to not be hurtful in nature , the fact that it was even a question makes me think that cultural issues are still subconsciously affecting hiring decisions in some of our workplaces, despite dubious claims of a "post-racial society".
I'd guess the opposite: that OP asked the question in an attempt to extract cultural hiring decisions/discrimination, thinking they're be lots of posts saying "no way!"
I'll bet OP has no problem with the hairstyle.
If this young woman takes that much time to make her hair look that good for an interview, she is likely to get a second interview/callback. That style is not easy to accomplish no matter who does it. I'm impressed.
She is a beautiful, classy young woman and I love, love, love her hair style, both while long and loose and put up in both the styles she fixed her hair in. Love her hair! I would hire her over some other young women I won't mention for fear of being "slammed."
Ok so I guess the style is okay. Does it only have to be black or are bolder summer colors like 30(a light brown) mixed with 33(auburn) okay? Or is that too much?
