I am frankly new to the introduction thing on linkedin. My former co-worker work there, but we haven't spoken in years. We were always on good terms I helped mentor him. I am confident he will give me an intro to the recruiter, but should I wait or just apply?
I am concerned that, with people like my friend being extremely busy, by the time I get the intro it may be 2 days, and 2 days is a long time todays's job market. Worth the wait or not?
i'd apply. if the introduction works, the recruiter should be able to look up your application. that may be more convenient to them than waiting for you to apply after the introduction. i can't think of any reason it would hurt you.
I agree! Apply now, intro later. Introduction will work as an extra push to have the recruiter take a look at your profile, if he hasn't already. But he has to have your application to consider you.
Thanks I just applied. It's a great company great software to sell. So what I did is apply and then send my friend a message asking if he could put in a good word and see what he says. He hasn't been there too long maybe 6-9 months but in that industry for 5 years.
