Most older people don't want to learn anything new and that was probably why they put it in there as a indirect way to keep them out. Then some older folks have arthritis, guess you didn't know that huh?

Um...there are quite a few of us older workers who could meet those requirements The hardest for me would be the 75#. Even when I was younger, 75# would be a stretch.

People who are 50 to 60 and older...can run circles around some younger people. People in that age group that I know - including myself - are healthy and strong. Are we getting into stereotyping here? LOL!!!

Stereotyping (and extremely odd beliefs over a range of subjects) is SOP for the originator of the thread.

What scares me is that he is a Jobs Counselor responsible for placing chronically unemployed and hard to place people in jobs to get them off the dole.

Um i know some 55 and older who have joint issues so when I see all that lifting and standing it made me think they were discriminating in a sneaky way

There would be folks in their 20's, 30's, 40's who could not do it. Usually the lifting requirement is around 40 lbs., possibly 50.
