So like I have mentioned I have been interviewing at a lot of places looking for the right fit. So I apply at a well known wireless carrier for B2B sales, and I get a vm from a guy with a heavy foreign accent and you can tell by the background noise he is calling from some boiler room in foreign country.
Has anyone encountered this? It's not entry level, base pay is decent.
Those boiler rooms are often used as the first string in the application process. The first contact is usually a quick conversation to make sure you are who you say you are, that the person at the contact information on the resume really applied, and to set up a meeting with the person who will be the first step in the process.
Colorado which company was it - the one with letters? I'm just curious I worked for that one for 12 years. In the residential sales department (land lines not wireless).

Think T with hot brunette spokeswoman.
I checked closer and it's only a contract position, no benefits for $18hr in Co. I applied with them for full time with benefits. That's really low if I have to pay all the taxes and its a hard core hunting job. Maybe if I was 28, but those days are long gone.
You get a callback from somewhere, anywhere to go to work and you're bitching that the guy has a foreign accent? Are you serious?
smh
Wow way to take that out of context. I have no issue with foreignors.................I am married to one. I take issue with someone I can't even understand, can't speak English well, and is obviously calling from some boiler room operation overseas. Clear enough for you
It was crystal clear before, and even after you've reiterated your stance, my comment still applies.
I get VMs from recruiters all the time that are Middle Eastern and have thick accents, for positions in IT and engineering. I don't care what they sound like or where they are, I tell them to email me the details and we take it from there.
Do you have any idea how ungrateful you sound? At least you got a phone call.
