Some people have been known to gloat at their old job about the new job they just landed, followed almost immediately by friendemies who call the company to talk the new hire down.

I've seen it many times over the years - along with the ever popular "friends in management who talk across companies."

Best advice is to keep your mouth shut until you are in the new job. Even after the job is secured, don't tell anyone where you are going.
