Hi all,

Just wondering what might be going on in my job hunting status...

1. Applied online (2 weeks ago)
2. Received call from HR -- initial questions asked such as salary requirements and why I want to work at the company. Interview with hiring manager and team lead scheduled.
3. Met with hiring manager and team lead. Interview lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes and consisted of an overview, behavioral questions, and a technical interview. After the interview, I was told I might be asked to drive to their corporate office (2 hours) to meet my potential team in a much less formal setting. I was then given a tour of the area and introduced to a couple people. Amazing feeling about the interview, probably best I've ever had.
4. Two days later, HR calls to schedule a 1-hour meet w/ the team, hiring manager, and team lead again.

What can I expect? Is this an informal, involve the team before hiring someone, meeting? Or, are they trying to determine between candidates still?

Ultimately, I'm just trying to determine how to prepare... At this point, I'm pretty confident they are interested in me as a candidate, but I'm not sure how close I actually am. Is it possible that an offer will be extended on site? Also, I'm not sure if this is just an informal "Hey, nice time meet you" vs being bombarded with questions in a room...

Any ideas and thoughts would be much appreciated!

Also... This is for a mid-senior level technical position for a very specific skill-set/background. I think prior to my second interview, I was told by a reputable source that I was only one of three people they were interviewing.

Hope this helps... Thanks!

You are on the "short list" of candidates. Continue impressing them. In the second interview, they are assessing cultural fit, technical skills, etc

They are definitely interested, but still evaluating the other 2 candidates.

Yeah, it sounds like you're one of the finalists and the last round they're most likely looking to cover the questions they might've missed or to discern nuances (personality fit) that will help them pick one candidate over another.
