Congrats! $9 per hour plus free room and board is a decent start. That's long hours but many of those hours will be spent doing nothing I'm guessing.

Good luck with the new job! More than having to prove it to us, you have to prove it to yourself that you are a disciplined individual who is willing to work hard and go beyond the job requirements to succeed no matter what. Working 75 hours when you are 25 is so much better than having to work 75 hours when you are 35 and have a family to support.
