Thanks and nope, no caffeine or even food for that matter. Couldn't eat.
My interview is over. I actually thought it went very well thanks in part to the interviewer. She was very personable which made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I felt really confident. I hope I get a call for the second round of interviews. The candidate pool for this position is pretty tough.

The better interviewers always try to make the candidate feel relaxed. When someone is relaxed, they tend to be more honest and forthcoming with what they can give to the company.

So how did the interview go, if you don't mind my asking?
I thought it went really well. I was extremely nervous at first but as I was waiting in the lobby, several employees walked by. They all smiled at me and said good morning and a few asked me if I was being helped. They were all very welcoming and pleasant which made me relax. When the interviewer came down and greeted me she seemed very personable. By the time we got to the conference room I felt very confident. I didn't stumble on any of the questions, kept eye contact and stayed engaged with the interviewer. She seemd impressed with me. However, I am very doubltful that I will be selected for the position. It just so happens that as I was signing in after entering the lobby, I saw a very familiar name at the top of the sign-in book. This person signed in earlier that day to meet with the same person that interviewed me. It was someone I used to work with at the employer I was laid off from. I'm certain he was interviewing for the same position. He has quite an edge over me. His qualifications are far superior to mine. There will be a second round of interviews. I will find out next week if I will be scheduled for one. I will keep looking and submitting my resume.
Glad it went well, CJ; if it ever doesn't, well - they aren't the gatekeepers for heaven so don't sweat that either.
I look for a job the same as looking for a house- don't turn off the search machine until you've signed a written offer.
Good luck!
Thank you!
BTW, my dad is an Air Force Veteran, too. I grew up a military brat. It's been years but I still miss military life sometimes.
