I'd never quit on-the-spot. Always give notice. And, keep the job you have. You'll have a pissed-off manager, but SHE will be the one to make the decision (to fire you or not, if it comes to that). You're giving notice (about the days you need off), so you're doing what you need to do. You need two more days off from what you say, just stick it out. Hopefully, things'll change for the better for you very very soon.

Best of luck!

Most employers are perfectly used to scheduling interviews for currently employed applicants and will adjust the interview time accordingly. In my opinion this is the ONLY way to go.

No, not in any way, shape or form.

I would talk to your supervisor about. Usually employers are flexible when it comes to applicants currently employed. If prospective employers can't understand that, they're really not worth working for.

If you're suggesting that the OP speak to the current supervisor, this is poor advice given that the OP has only worked at the company for 8 months in a first job right out of college and management is already baulking at giving time off for jury duty. If you mean a prospective employer can be asked to schedule an interview which wouldn't require absence from a current job then that's a different kettle of fish, of course should be done and is perfectly common practice.
