"I would, however, I have been looking for non profit/government jobs in my area and there do not seem to be that many though I would be willing to do anything to get my foot in the door at the current moment. I will still keep looking though! As for the degree, 47% work in government and the rest work in either the private sector or non profit. Its a versatile degree which is why I got it. "

I would also note to be a tad careful with non profits. The more issue based the more it might appear to be political. Without naming names I've seen some on linkedin that interned at some non profits that together point to a direction to the left or right. Generally anything that tends to be ethnic or religious would be a harder sell if you go to government or the private sector.

"How would they find out unless they looked up my educational credentials? I am only taking it off for like retail and fast food places..other places that require a degree get all of my education. I live in a small area, so I don't have to worry about campaigns, however I didn't think about the airports, school districts and what not. Thanks for letting me know. I think that you are right and ignoring that does mean ignoring a lot of potential jobs. "

Huh? If you hire someone and pull an I-9 you pretty much check the background. Otherwise what would you be saying you did with that time?

The other type you might want to consider could be government relations *lobbiest* cough. But always keep in mind the ethics laws because there can be conflicts of interest if you are personally involved.

I forgot what your degree is in but have you looked into small time temps? They work much harder to place people, that's how I got my current job. I started temping and then within a few months I got a better job with the company I was a temp through, been at the company almost 2 years and am getting another promotion towards the end of this year The temp was a great step though.
