Hi there everybody. I had an in person interview this Tuesday and I thought it was a great interview. Strong handshake from the interviewer in the end, they laughed at my jokes. However, today I noticed that the job is no longer available. Does this mean that they pretty much have an idea of who they will be hiring, and that decisions should be made by next week? Or did they already give an offer to another candidate, and I'm playing the plan B/C/D guy?
My pals think they it's the ladder, which is big bummer.
It means they have not contacted you yet to let you know their decision and nothing more at this point.
Unless your "pals" work for the company and are part of the hiring process they would have no idea what is happening in regards to the entire interview/hiring process.
Some companies take a long time to make a decision because they are trying to get the right person the first time so they do not have to interview for the same position again.

When we have interviewed and made decision, we will not contact those rejected until the person we select has accepted the offer, and completed the background/reference checks. It may take 1-2 weeks after the last interview.
