It depends on the offense and subsequent conduct. Not all felonies can be expunged.

Yes, I just read that, so if you have a major felony that cannot be removed it will hurt your chances of getting a job. But its all up to were you applied for the job. Were I worked a guy did not put down he had a felony. When we ran a back ground check he was fired , not for the felony but for lying on his employment application. He check no when asked ever convected of a felony.

Felony. In every state I know of any adjudicated felony stays forever on your record. Only non-adjudicated sentence can be expunged.

Adjudicated felonies can certainly be expunged in Ohio, and I am sure we are not on the cutting edge of judical process.

Definitely the felony. You can fix bad credit with discipline and a credit counselor, there nothing you can do to remove a felony for your record. You could hope that an employer doesn't go back far enough in your history to find out about it, but if they do, it will show up. Some employers (like working for the government) will not hire someone with a felony record no matter how long ago it happened.

Depends on the career.. If you go into the oil field, construction industry, etc., neither of them will ever really matter.

I'd say felony since he should be able to fix the credit, with a little effort.
Because challenging them would wake up a judgment holder who would then pounce and collect from my poverty level income, thereby impairing my ability to meet current obligatons (like rent), thereby leading to homelessness and severe angst.

??? How exactly can one fix bad credit with discipline, a credit counselor, and a poverty level income? Where would the money come from to meet the accruing interest, let alone to retire the principal?

bad credit, they could steal from you because they can't get their finances right.

I believe in giving cons a 2nd chance.

Ahhhhh, those "old derogs" got to the judgment stage ... that was a little piece of info left out of the OP.

Sorry, but I probably wouldn't hire either. A lot of us manage to get through life with no felonies (or misdemeanors, for that matter) and no judgments against us. (Not blaming you, OP, just sayin', in a competitive job market, it's not likely that either would be given a chance.)
