The problem is, once one Indian gets power, the company will soon be full of Indians.
I think sometimes they are forced to help their folks too, because it is their culture. Also, too few Americans work in this field and there is not enough supervision.
This is not true and if you view companies where Indians have real power, you'll see that their reports, while possibly diverse, are not mostly Indian. Take a look at Pepsi or Adobe or KFC's execs. While their CEOs are Indian, their execs are mostly not Indian.
Our American staff have had to repeatedly get advice from some more Westernized Indians about conflicts over caste/class/sect at our company. Some of these folks just seem to despise each other. It is a real impediment.
I feel the low productivity of recently-arrived Indians to be more of an impediment than any discrimination.
I'm a Jewish female pushing 40 in a field full of Indian men that is known for rampant sexism and ageism.
So yeah, I'm white and I'm complaining about discrimination.
I'm a white woman over 50 in IT who had two horrific bullying incidents with Indian men, unfortunately back in the olden days when it was okay to have a hostile working environment.

I don't know too much about food industry. I mainly talk about IT jobs.
But they are even CEOs of Pepsi? and KFC??? What happened?

Competency and hard work paid off.
Adobe is a software company (formerly an exec at Apple). Neither company has a large number of Indians in high ranking positions. Yes, Adobe's lead engineer is Indian, but he was also one of the first developers and a cofounder.
Deutsche Bank- A bank with huge IT needs... not many Indians in the company overall.
Microsoft - A large technology company that has an Indian CEO. Almost all the other execs and directors are white.
The point is that your assertion is completely incorrect.

It's still the olden days. I'm in a hostile work environment right now, but that sort of thing is very difficult to prove.

Based on the history of India, not all Indians are the same in that they dont share the same religions, and cultural beliefs etc. A coworker once told me about his experience in India after the Brittish pulled out.
I dont think Brittian should have stayed, but I do think restitution of an Inidan Government could have been handled better.
My Hindi co-worker's ancestoral home was in an area that would become designated Muslim only - it might have even become Pakistan. Im not sure. His family became refugees because of that, and had leave with what they could carry on their backs. He said Muslims can live anywhere they want in India, but other Indians had to leave certain areas, under threat of death, because of that Muslim only designation.
He didnt despise any of his Indian coworkers, who were christians from southern India, but you could see and feel the pain of all he had been through when he spoke about that time. I think the thing he resented the most was being forced to leave his Northern area of India while Muslims could be whereever they wanted.

Have you really been to Microsoft? I have.
Not a lot of Indians? Is there another Microsoft?
We are not only talking about very high ranking positions. This phenomenon is actually more relevant to middle level positions who have the direct responsibility to hire a lot of employees.
