Is it even worth it messing with taleo? (apply, interview, application)

I've heard that Taleo will throw out most people and that if you have any gaps, you probably shouldn't apply. Is this true?

I've heard a lot more bad about Taleo than good at any rate.

I've never had any luck with Taleo and have heard that many didn't have any luck (even if they had far more experience than me) than I did.

taleo isnt your problem, thats what you dont recognize

i do fine with it because i know people at company already. i apply and they know to look for my application
it isnt like someone cant manually search for applications, it isnt automatically deleted on taleo

if you cant get past taleo, its something with your resume/network and not the system. put the blame on the right thing and not a computer software. really, did you think if you can get past the computer screen, then you can get past the "in person" screen? if you can do that, the computer part is only formality

I've heard a lot more bad about Taleo than good at any rate.

I personally HATE Taleo. But As far as I know, it will filter based on criteria that the company specifies. If they want a degree and you don't have one, you'll be filtered, etc.

I figure it's always worth a shot to apply, though it gets tiresome filling out all the same information over and over. But you won't know until you try!

I tried many times. Never got through these things. Another thing that I've almost decided to stop trying is the personality tests. Those I've done and never have even gotten an interview from them.

Networking is where it is at.

When someone asks to see your resume, you know they are going to look at it.

If you aren't willing or good at networking, you need to apply for jobs you are qualified for. And that doesn't mean that you think you are qualified for, but that the employer feels you are qualified.

Specifications to kick out applicants is set by the employer. Unfortunately, most employers will have ridiculous requirements and throw out a lot of very good candidates.

And what does the specifications have to do with online applications? They would have same requirements if it were screened by person such as before the 1990s
