I'm used to interviewing for office jobs, but I figured I'll wear what the workers wear, black slacks, black collared buttoned shirt tucked in pants and black casual shoes. I met the person interviewing me today last week, so Im wearing the exact same thing, same hair, same everything he invited me back for an interview in. This sound okay or should I add a black blazer? My blouse is short sleeved. I feel like a jacket is too pro.
As Vueve said, if it's for a managerial position I'd definitely do it. If not, don't. You'll just be seen as overqualified and they'll probably think you'll want more money than they're willing to shell out.
Wear the blazer. It'll make you look like you take the interview seriously and the interviewer will appreciate that.
I do the hiring for my department and I absolutely judge applicants based on their interview outfit. Come in wearing jeans? Bye bye.
