To both: I act like a grown up, suck it up, and continue being productive. Seems like silly questions to me, but I guess not everyone would answer it well.
Well, how would you answer them if it happened to you? Maybe they are asking for a reason and that reason is not to trick you but to geniunly find out what would you since the burn out rate of foreign teachers may be high.
They want honest answers. Really, what would you do in those situations? If your answer is sit in your apartment and cry or book a ticket home to escape the problem, then the job probably isn't a good idea. Others might make friends with other teachers and find a support system when times are tough. Some teachers might video call family/friends back home (might make matters worse though).
They want to know what you'd do, there is no "right answer".
Easy to answer these questions, however, no offense meant by this I'm not going to give you an answer as you should be very easily able to figure out the answers and give an honest opinion.
It's to measure how you would handle and cope with living overseas once the honeymoon period ends. I would answer using examples of how I handled living and working in foreign environments/countries.
