I have an interview coming up soon, and after researching the company, and watching some of their you tube videos, I noticed their general dress code. Would it be a good strategy to mimic their dress for the interview, or just go with what I've always gone with, the standard suit and tie?

Thanks.

The general rule is, if it is ever a job that you will have to wear a suit(even just once), is wear a nice suit and a tie.

If the enviornment is business casual, wear a suit.

In fact, if the position is any office enviornment, I would wear a suit. It can never hurt.

General strategy is at least one step up from their dress code, but for most office positions, a suit is preferable. If the office is very casual, you can be less formal with your suit. For some companies, most of the tech companies for example, wearing a suit would be an instant job killer...and they say so right on their websites .

I accidentally applied to some MLM type call center once and they told me to wear flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt or they would not interview me. When I went it the girls gone wild music was playing loudly as well. I went for the chuckles. I was not disappointed.

Always wear a suit for the 1st interview. The 2nd and 3rd interview can be business casual if the work environment is business casual. BUT if you are interviewing with the CEO, CFO, etc for the 2nd interview then wear a suit.

Our business office manager went out to the reception. area to pick up someone for an interview. He was wearing a suit and tie. She told him "thanks, but you won't be a fit" and left him there. BTW, there is no dress code given to applicants for the interview. In this town though, if someone shows up not wearing pjs and slippers, you're onto a winner

That's sad???? A suit is pretty common for an office job interview. Is it on your company website not to wear a suit??
