If you're actively searching for a new job, how many interview do you think someone should have weekly to get a new job?

How many interviews are normal before you get a new job?

How many times do you want to meet with a new company before you accept a job with them?

Looking forward to hearing what everyone has to share!

One a week is pretty good. Usually when it rains it pours, and I end up with one a day, which gets difficult to juggle.

I want at least 2 interviews and a phone screen. I don't want to waste my time coming in if we can determine the fit over the phone. I want to meet the people I will be working with, not just the hiring manager.

But, there needs to be a balance: the marathon interviews or the 5-person grillings are no good either.

And I do think if the numbers differ if you're actively employed or actively looking (unemployed). Driving activity is a critical part of the search. So many times we see people looking for the end result (a new job) but not focused on driving the right activity to ensure they have enough info to make a great decision. Thanks for the response!

Ugh....that makes me feel awful.
I hate the job market where I live.
I have faxed, mailed or emailed roughly 30 resumes in the past 5 months & have scored 2 interviews. Sad, huh?
I've reviewed my resume, keeping it simple yet interesting. I've included some good cover letters & I am qualified for the positions that I have applied for.

I am so incredibly discouraged, but all I can do is keep on keeping on.

I have had some what I thought were great interviews and then NOTHING!!!
I just really want to get out of where I am.
