It's not really a question of falsehoods, but rather that the person who has been invited for interview didn't write their own resume. Therefore they have to rely on memory of what it contained even though the information provided may be factual. That can lead to a lack of confidence on the part of the candidate which is likely to show up in their demeanor.

I can certainly read my resume, before I send it out.

I ace interviews all the time. I have to rely on memory at every interview. In most of my interviews, they ask situational questions.

Tell us about a situation, where you ......
Can you give us a specific example of when you .....?
Tell us about a time, where you had worked for weeks on a project only to have it canceled? How did you handle it?

I still got the job offers, even though these scenarios were not on the resume.
