I interviewed with a big biotech company last week and I am scheduled for a second round of interviews. I am excited and anxious at the same time. What should i expect? I have been down on luck with the whole job search so I am hoping this time it will different. Any thoughts? Words of encouragement? Thanks

Did you get a list of the people you'll be meeting with and what their roles are? Interviews work differently everywhere.

Get as much info as you can about the company/job/people before you go in. Ask different questions to each person you meet, and gear them toward that person's role - job-specific questions to the person who would be your immediate supervisor, company culture questions to HR, etc.

Good luck - I hope you get it!!!

Getting through the first round typically means they think you have the technical aptitude. You usually meet with the main decision maker in that first face to face. Round 2 is therefore (typically) more about how you fit in. Again, this isn't always the case but it is usually.

Be yourself and try to connect with the people you meet. Be professional but try to get them to feel like you are someone they like and can be friendly with.

Best of luck.

These are the things you should expect during a second interview below.

1. Meeting the management team

2. Getting a tour of the organization

3. Being asked for a list of your references

4. Being asked when you can start the job

5. More details about the functions of the position and salary.

Note: Send a thank you email to everyone person you meet with during the second interview.
