I've been casually looking for positions in some of my preferred areas over the last couple of months and had a couple of good chats with a company that is based near one of my preferred areas. I had a quick chat with the hiring manager, then a longer interview, and finally was conferenced in with the rest of their team.
During the third interview, I asked a question related to traffic in the area, and the hiring manager responded with an "f*** no." I appreciated the answer, but thought this was extremely unprofessional. While I work in a team where there is a lot of profanity, we've never cursed around an applicant.
One of the team members asked me if I was fine with shift work, and I said that I've done it before and enjoyed it. The same guy said "great - makes it easy to get drunk the night if you don't have to come into work until evening!" Again, a beyond stupid comment.
I think the move would be lateral to a slight upward move, but don't know the salary yet. The location is good, traffic doesn't look to be bad, etc, but these are immense red flags.
Yeah, I don't know about a place like that. If they're comfortable talking like that before you get in there, I wonder how they communicate when something goes wrong
That's probably just how this person is. If those are red flags for you, move on. Someone else would fit better; someone who gets drunk every night and uses obscene language all the time.

That's my advice as well. Seems to be a pretty clear indication that you wouldn't be a good fit there. I suspect you're more like me; my language can get salty sometimes in appropriate company, and I don't see anything wrong with throwin some beers back on occasion, but I can't imagine making comments like that during the interview process. Keep looking.
