Hi folks,

If you've just landed a part-time position relatively recently (let's say about 2 months) but you're still searching for full time opportunities, do you list the PT job on your resume? Are hiring managers generally understanding that you're desiring FT which is why you're interviewing with them? I just don't know if it raises eyebrows to them that you're willing to leave a job you just got, even though it's not ideally what you want.

I know honesty is the best approach, and that it is probably best not to even list it at all and just explain a gap, but if you've been out of work for a few months, I feel like they'll hold it against you.

Sands,

It depends.

What did you tell your part-time employer about your continuing to be looking for a full time position while working the part time job?

Since you knew you would be quitting this part time job as soon as you found a suitable full time job, what did you tell your current employer about this?

Did you say it would be temporary? If so, that's all you would have to say to the full time employer and your current employer will back that up.

So yes, you could list the part time job.
