I have registered for the Tampa Career showcase Job Fair Tomorrow. The information stresses to be prepared, but I have been unable to find out which companies will be represented or what type of positions are available. Should I attend?
The job fairs I have seen, the companies attending are listed. But they tend to be almost all service oriented jobs, call centers, sales or retail positions, along with some warehouse, manufacturing and assembly. Almost all are non degree jobs. Great, if thats your target.
Thank you all for your advice ... I DID go ... and all I can say is that it is a waste of GAS ... I attended another the next week, which DID tell who was SUPPOSE to be there, and the companies that were suppose to be there were NOT. In fact, the same companies that were at the first job fair were the exact same at the second. Unless you are a recent grad with NO experience, or without a degree and don't mind call centers making 150 cold calls a day, then I recommend avoiding these job fairs all together... Live and learn.
