There is a job ad on craigslist. They're looking for someone with construction experience that can help them build mini houses and I was interested in that job even though I have no skills what so ever. I really want to learn and all and feel like giving them a call but I don't want to look stupid for asking...what should I do ? it looks like a really cool job

Some community colleges offer Mill & Cabinet classes, & Carpentry classes. They are very useful. A community college i attended, built a home each year, then sold it at auction.

A lot of small general contractors will start you off doing grunt clean up work and you will go on from there. You would be suprised how hard it is to get good help for construction. The contractor I had working on my house had a few guys simply walk off the job. He was paying them well, like $700 bucks a week under the table.

Guy, you're look more stupid holding a cardboard sign. Many employers will give a willing candidate a shot if they have the gumption to say "I'd like to do this in the future, can I work for you and learn?"

Oh and Good luck to you!

And there are government contracts out there that require "on the job" training. You could get lucky!
