Are those security jobs, where you have to get a guard card, legit or scams? Does the training pay? Do you make a lot of money from it? Have any of you ever done this line of work? Much appreciated.
If the state requires you to have a card, you need the card. It is not uncommon for larger security companies to run their own training program, which they charge you for, and then to hire their own graduates. Contract security generally pays fairly poorly. Depending on what part of the country you are in, you are looking at $8 to $12 an hour. You will find higher paying security at casinos, hospitals, some in-house security, school districts, etc. Each will have their own training and experience requirements. Most security jobs are rather boring, have a low threshold for entry, and don't require a lot of thought, so they pay accordingly.
Oh I see now, well alright then. I hope the security job, my friend got into isn't a scam.
