If you want the job, rather than get all huffy and insulted by some old-fashioned perceived sexism or what-have-you, just jump in and prove you have what it takes. My two cents and I'm not trying to personally attack or insult you but try reading my posts and responding to the ideas rather than resorting to the "ism".

Frankly if someone goes into an interview with an entitled attitude and a hair trigger insult threshold, the interviewer's going to sense that and this applicant will be history.
Yeah just haul off and smack them to prove your strength the old fashioned caveman way, right?

"You'll be replacing someone who died of a stroke on the job only a short time ago. Do you feel comfortable with that?"

"you'll do whatever I tell you.If I say water the plants, you do it. If I say take out the trash, you do that."

I thought to myself..."if you say bend over the table and ........ I do that too?" I stopped him in the middle of his rubbish and his ranting..I tuned out at that point..."WE'RE DONE. I'M NOT INTERESTED." I walked out..

when I got home I had nice shot of Russian Standard Vodka. No ice, straight up... _______________

Granted he was an Israeli... since they're known for not bathing more often than once a week... no wonder the Arabs don't like them!

Interviewing at a conference table of about 10 people for a university ''exterminator'' job. Question was ''Can mice see in the dark?'' Answer was ''I guess so. They're nocturnal.''
Didn't get, or want, the job.

LOL! Interviews at universities are like being in the Twilight Zone. At least that has been *my* experience. I have had some of the most asinine, makes-no-sense interviews for university jobs. I think the people who have interviewed me for university positions have been stuck in the "Ivory Tower" far too long. Talk about being out of touch with reality...

I no longer apply for university positions, the process takes forever, the applications are pages and pages of "are you a minority/how to you feel about diversity?" questions, and usually they already have an internal candidate picked out (someone else who has been working in the Ivory Tower far too long).

Of course this has been my experience, and I am sure everyone else has had the opposite experience when applying for university jobs.
