My job counselor that I was assigned to through a state agency I went to to get job assistance sent me to a grocery store for a cashier job. Turns out it is part-time. According to my job counselor, I had to accept the job.
My husband and I need to be working full-time in order to pay our bills. What is the best way to go about job hunting for a full-time job without my job counselor nor the grocery store finding out?
What should I include on my resume or job application for my current job?
How should I handle job interviews while working part-time?
I do not want anyone to find out what I am doing. My job counselor does not know that I will be looking for a full-time job.
Why did you have to accept the job? I don't understand.
The state agency pays my job counselor. When I called her and told her it is part-time and pays $7.65 an hour as well as the fact that my husband is concerned about our paying our bills with his full-time job and my part-time job, and that he wants me to work full-time, she told me I had to take the job.
So this is why I need to look for a full-time job.
I am also wondering how I could work part-time at home using the internet.
Either find a full-time job or work-part time at home using the internet to make more money.

I am confused... I don't see how the state agency pays your job counselor has anything to do with you refusing to take a part time job.
Anyway, I don't see any problem for you to continue to look for a full-time job while working part-time. I looked for full-time job while working full-time before and went to job interview during lunch hours.

I got the feeling that she wanted to close my case as soon as she could so she could get paid by the state agency.
I am also confused. Are you required to get a job in order to qualify for certain government assistance or something? Given that full time status is assumed to be the standard for achieving a way of life, I don't understand why you would be forced to take that rather than declining in favor of waiting for full time work.

I was not told by my employment counselor why I had to take the part-time job. She just told that I had to accept it.
Someone else I know who also went to the same state agency was told the same thing as well. He said that you have to accept whatever job your employment counselor finds for you. His guess is that the counselor wants to be paid by the state agency as soon as possible.
I assume you took the part-time job already...so next time do look out for yourself and learn to say no
For now, just continue to apply job while working @ your part-time job. Part-time job is still better than no job. Good luck!
I was going to say no to the job, but she told me I had to take the part-time job. She knew that my husband and I want me to work full-time. I told her over the phone that my husband wants me to work full-time, but she told me to not turn down the job.
So you are saying, there are no repercussions for not taking the job? You took the job anyway. You are worried about repercussions of finding a full-time job, if your job counselor finds out.
Bless your heart.
