The last 3 people we have hired found the opening posted on LinkedIn. It's a great place to find openings, but I have never seen the networking part do much, other than one offer I got when not needing a new job from someone searching for my specific experience and skills.
It does, if you have great connections. I contacted my supervisor who I used to work with and he's keeping an eye out for me regarding a job. My uncle also has someone who works in the Board of Education and currently hooked me up with a lady who works with the Board of Education too.
I had an account there once and realized the whole world can see my professional history. It also automatically sent emails to ALL people in my hotmail account address list without me knowing or approving.
Is this still happening?
Can you find a job through linkedin without giving all your privacy away?
Yeah, it works. There's no one job board or site or job fair that can guarantee an interview, but to answer your question, I've landed several real deal interviews from linkedin job postings.
