6/14 Second round interview
and reach out references
6/16 emailed me they are discussing with HR
6/28 I emailed them to ask the process
6/29 emailed me back I am the person and offcial offer will be sent soon

Does anyone know how long should I wait....I feel exhaused in waiting!!!!

Too many factors to give an estimate... As lame as it sounds, it'll take as long as it takes them.

There's probably several people who need to sign off on this and prepare documents. High priority issues come up, people get sick and go on vacation, etc which can delay the process. I'd say you're in pretty good shape and should be hearing something at any time.

For my current job, I had to wait several weeks because the HR person responsible for me went on vacation and forgot about it. My paperwork was sitting on her desk until I reached out to her. After reaching out, my references were verified and I was extended an offer within two hours.

Depends. We will never know. Some people get it done within 1 or 2 weeks. For me, it was a month...just to get through my background check, uuughhhh — not an academic job though

That seems super fast to me. My academic positions often took 3-6 months from first contact to starting.

Harvard was the slowest. I think I went in 5 times for different interviews? And yes, they basically shut down except for exec ed programs during the summer, especially August.

Luckily, my interview process is finished lol. Will it be related with the position level?.
Mine is just a staff position. Not a professor or faculty level. timberline742, are you a faculty in Harvard?

This. It probably has to be signed off on by HR, the department head, then the division head/VP of whatever, all of which creates opportunities for breakdown.
