You shouldn't be so emotionally distraught over this...

Sounds really unprofessional to cancel just 1 hour ahead of time. You should of had days before or even during the phone interview to figure out where the office location would be at. Seems like you just wasted a few hours of the companies resources which could of been spent interviewing someone else.

Well, from the replies on page one I can see you're not getting a lot of sympathy. But I sympathize.

You throw your resume out there, and it's probably a decent resume. Some jackwagon calls and tries to sell you on interviewing for a position that he's going to get a commission on if he fills. He lied to you and wasted your time. You were nice enough to consider even though it's LESS MONEY than you're making now. (quite a salesman, huh?) But the icing on the cake - he knew good and well that job was further and lied lied lied. When you finally woke up, spewing the kool-aid he tried to drown you with, you declined. Too bad for him. You've got better things to do with your time. It's his fault, not yours.

I wouldn't give a hoot about him. He knows where to find you. And if he thinks he can shove you into another space, he'll do it! Heck, I might even bug him for other leads just to aggravate him. You've got the upper hand. You have a job. You don't need some lower paying job further away. How does that even make sense?

Recruiters are [Mod cut.] for the most part. I've grown to disdain them.

I don't feel bad about not being nice to them and neither should you!

Everything will be fine.

The recruiter is the one who screwed up here.

Exactly. You realized an hour before the interview where it was located? Sorry, not buying it.

You were 100% wrong for multiple reasons, and canceling at the last minute is only one of them.

On a positive note, you won't have to worry about headhunters from [Mod cut!] being pushy with you again.

I think you were mad at the pushy recruiter for insulting you with the low paying job and you embarrassed them to get back at them.

LOL. Thank you for the positive feedback folks.
And to those who are blaming me "entirely", you are part of the problem. You have no clue and can only blame others for everything. I admitted that I was wrong and that I felt disrespected.
And you know what? He called me back later in the day and apologized.
There are so many [Mod cut.] in the world and some of them posted here. I wish I had some sort of a radar to filter out people like that from my life. I call you people "walking calculators". You have no soul and value business over people. Thank GOD I was born in a different part of the world. I love America, but American values of today are ones of greed, soullessness, and rudeness.
