This is just a vent about my job search. It has been three months and I am still looking. At least I still have a job, but I am a little disappointed, depressed and frustrated. I really want out of my current role. I know it is August and slow. I am hoping after Labor Day it picks up. I am interviewing but I don't seem to get anywhere. I am told they like me but either want someone with more experience or the old adage "We went in a different direction" I know the right position is out there and I need to be patient. I just hate the rejection feeling.

I've been looking for 8 months and currently unemployed. You can't take the rejection personally. It happens. Be thankful you have a job.

Yes don't take it personally as everyone gets rejections. I was extremely disappointed in a past job that I interviewed for (4 interviews total, long process) and didn't get though I REALLY wanted it! Not to long after something even better came along and I was happy others didn't work out. I was searching and choose something rather quickly even though I wasn't 100% for it.. I hate it and wish I had not settled. Don't do that either, the right one definitely will come along and you will know it! It's great you do have a current job, I do to now and hoping to find something else real soon. Good luck!

I've been looking for over a year. It's dreadful to feel stuck in a miserable job, but at least it's a paycheck, right? Something's got to give sooner or later.

Yes, it sucks, but for some, 3 months is a drop in the bucket. Many of us know the pain too well. Good luck! I don't wish a lengthy job search on anyone, whether they are already working an unsatisfactory job or unemployed.
