Everyone recommends following up on the applications we make on-line. But most often, we can't get any access to the people or department performing the review process. How do you guys recommend doing that?
Not everybody says that you should follow up. I happen to think that it is a waste of time.
Unless you have a really legitimate connection to the hiring manager, and some friend-of-a-friend-of-a-linkin-connection doesn't count, most hiring managers are going to view your contact as an annoyance.
Spend your time on properly customizing your application materials to the posting. Submit, then move on to the next application.
