Learn how to be a good machinist, and you will never have to look far for work. Limiting yourself to only one discipline (CNC machining) limits the number of opportunities you can apply to. There will always be a demand for the machinist who can run any machine, and handle most any job. These types of machinists are difficult to find these days. Everyone wants to be the puter guy, and nothing more. There are only so many 100K/year CNC machinist/engineer jobs to go around. The rest pay 40-50K, often require plenty of OT, and are limited in what you will actually have a chance to do and learn. This puts a limit on career growth potential, and future earnings.
